Development of IT cluster opens up new economic opportunities for Kazakhstanis — Alikhan Smailov

As part of his working trip to Almaty, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov got acquainted with the development of the IT cluster, medical and educational areas of the city.

Thus, Alikhan Smailov visited the center for the development of innovative entrepreneurship MOST IT Hub Almaty, which was launched in May this year.

In the center of 5200 sq. meters there are offices, coworking spaces, areas for events and business meetings. Also on the basis of the center, programs to support technology start-ups are implemented, thematic events are held with the participation of investors and representatives of venture funds.

The Prime Minister noted that the development of the IT cluster opens up new economic opportunities for Kazakhstanis.

“More and more private innovation hubs and business incubators are appearing in the city, many large IT and creative companies have been created here. Following the example of Almaty, IT hubs should be launched in all regional centers of the country. Regional akimats, together with the Ministry of Digital Development, need to intensify work in this direction,” said Alikhan Smailov.

Further, the Prime Minister got acquainted with the activities of the new multidisciplinary medical center Mediker Hospital International, which provides outpatient care for adults and children.

The center has a dental office, a sports medicine, physiotherapy and rehabilitation department, a radiation diagnostics department, including an MRI, CT, X-ray and mammography room, a telemedicine room, two operating rooms and a 24-hour hospital.

“In Kazakhstan, a number of areas of medicine are already successfully competing at the international level. The availability of high-tech medical services has been ensured, and basic health indicators are improving. Thanks to telemedicine, citizens have the opportunity to receive highly professional assistance without leaving their locality,” said Alikhan Smailov, congratulating doctors on the upcoming professional holiday — the Day of the Medical Worker.

Then the head of government visited the Almaty College of Passenger Transport and Technology, equipped with various training and production workshops as part of the Zhas Maman project.

It is the only college that trains urban transport personnel with partners such as the Union of Machine Builders, Hyundai Center and Allur Auto.

“On behalf of the President, systemic measures are being taken in the country to develop vocational education. Your college is one of the leading educational institutions in the city. Here, young people receive the professions of car mechanics, electricians, turners, welders and others that are in great demand today. The city administration needs to take specific measures to provide non-resident students with a hostel, as well as to promote the employment of graduates,” Alikhan Smailov emphasized.

The Prime Minister added that the undoubted achievements of the college are the victories of students in the city and republican Worldskills championships in turning, milling on CNC machines, car repair and maintenance.
