Askar Mamin visits Mangystau region on a working trip

As part of his working trip to Mangystau region, Prime Minister Askar Mamin held a meeting on the socio-economic development of the region and inspected the implementation of projects in the manufacturing industry, healthcare, life support and tourism infrastructure.

Akim of Mangystau region Nurlan Nogayev, Minister of Energy Magzum Mirzagaliyev, Minister of Ecology, Geology and Natural Resources Serikkali Brekeshev, First Vice Minister of Industry and Infrastructure Development Kairbek Uskenbayev, Deputy Chair of the Board of KazMunayGas NJSC Daniyar Berlibayev and others presented their reports.

On Nov. 4, 2021, the Government's decree adopted the Comprehensive Plan for the Socio-Economic Development of the Mangystau Region for 2021-2025, which provides for the implementation of 214 measures worth 2.1 trillion tenge.

The task has been set for the development of the oil and gas sector, manufacturing, tourism, transport and logistics. Projects for the development of social, engineering and communal infrastructure will be implemented. Due to the measures taken, 100% of the region's population will be provided with high-quality drinking water. The implementation of the Comprehensive Plan will ensure the creation of about 60 thousand new jobs, the growth of industry by 27%, real incomes of the population — by 40%, and the region's economy as a whole — by 32%.

For 10 months of this year the volume of the manufacturing industry in the Mangystau region increased by 4.1% and amounted to 150.2 billion tenge, the volume of gross agricultural output reached 17.1 billion tenge (+1%). The growth of investments in fixed assets amounted to 0.6% (473.9 billion tenge). The volume of construction work increased by 22.8% (193.8 billion tenge), 954.1 thousand sq. m of housing.

The Prime Minister instructed to ensure the timeliness and quality of the implementation of the Comprehensive Plan for Social and Economic Development of the Mangystau Region for 2021-2025.

During the meeting, special attention was paid to the issue of providing the population with clean drinking water. Until 2025, it is planned to implement 9 projects in the region with a total desalination capacity of 286 thousand cubic meters, incl. 3 projects with a capacity of 35 thousand cubic meters per day will be put into operation in the first half of 2022.

The Prime Minister got acquainted with the work of the factory for the production of footwear and workwear, Zhamal-ai Ltd, with a capacity of 120 thousand pairs of shoes per year.

During his visit to the oncological dispensary in Aktau, the Prime Minister was informed about the development of the health care system in the Mangystau region.

Askar Mamin got acquainted with the projects of modernization of the energy complex of MAEK-Kazatomprom LLP — until 2030 it is planned to build a combined cycle plant at CHPP-2, as well as two desalination plants with a total capacity of 24 thousand cubic meters per day.

The Head of Government also inspected the implementation of development projects for the tourist zone of Aktau.
