Epidemiological situation in Kazakhstan stabilizing

At a government session chaired by Prime Minister Askar Mamin, the epidemiological situation and measures to combat coronavirus infection were considered.

Minister of Healthcare Alexey Tsoy, akims of Nur-Sultan Altai Kulginov, Almaty — Bakytzhan Sagintayev, Shymkent — Murat Aitenov, Mangystau region — Serikbay Trumov, Kostanay region — Archimed Mukhambetov presented their reports.

During the quarantine regime, which ends Aug. 2, 2020, Kazakhstan managed to stabilize the epidemiological situation, significantly reduce the burden on medical organizations. The number of COVID-19 patients recovered in Kazakhstan has exceeded 63%. The daily increase in infection decreased from 4% to 1.7%, the occupancy of places in hospitals decreased to 46%, the number of ambulance calls decreased by 38%. A sufficient supply of medicines has been created in the regions.

“We need to improve the current indicators of the epidemiological situation. Today, the Ministry of Healthcare presented a Plan for Phased Elimination of Quarantine Measures. Taking into account the emerging dynamics during this month, we will consider this Plan at the meeting of the State Commission and take appropriate decisions,” Mamin said.
