Deputy Prime Minister Berdibek Saparbayev held a working meeting with the leadership of the Ministry of Culture and Sports on the implementation of priority areas of the ministry’s activity.
Opening the meeting, the deputy prime minister emphasized that the country's leadership has set the task of strengthening the spiritual and moral education of young people, the quality of cultural events, which should bring pronounced practical and ideological benefits.
“This year, a series of anniversary events will be held dedicated to the 175th anniversary of Abay, the 1150th anniversary of al-Farabi, the 750th anniversary of the Golden Horde and the 75th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. It is necessary to once again analyze all planned activities and strengthen their ideological content. Moreover, all expenses must be optimized, and the allocated funds should serve the interests of the people,” he said.
Berdibek Saparbayev pointed to the low dynamics of the development and popularization of mass sports, especially among young people.
“The ministry should work closely with the regions. Many events are held in the areas where most of the country's population lives. A huge number of new sports and cultural facilities are built annually throughout the republic. But, as practice shows, many of them are not used in the evenings, on weekends and holidays. In their free time, children should be able to attend various circles, sections, libraries, theaters and other facilities free of charge or on favorable terms. Ensuring youth employment is an important aspect of spiritual and moral education and the prevention of juvenile delinquency,” he said.
The deputy prime minister instructed to intensify the work on the construction of fitness centers in the countryside, the holding of major youth competitions such as the Golden Puck, the Leather Ball, and the tour of republican creative associations and groups in districts and villages.
Berdibek Saparbayev noted the significant potential for the development of the tourism industry.
“Kazakhstan has enormous potential, both for the development of domestic tourism, and for receiving foreign guests. We have a large territory, rich historical and cultural heritage, unique nature. However, we are not fully utilizing the opportunities available. The key issue is attracting strategic investors to the industry. We specifically created the Kazakh Tourism company, a lot of talk, but there are no concrete results yet,” he said.
In addition, the deputy prime minister outlined a number of specific tasks for the development of language policy, procedural sports, the film industry, and the implementation of activities under the Elbasy’s program “Bolashaqqa Bagdar: Rouhani Zhangyru” and the article “Uly Dalanyn Zheti Qyry”.
