About 281 thousand Kazakhstanis employed through the e-labor exchange in 2020

At the government session chaired by Prime Minister Askar Mamin, Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population Birzhan Nurymbetov reported on the implementation of the President's instructions in the social and labor sphere.

At the extended government session the Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev pointed to the need to increase permanent jobs.

In this regard, the ministry proposes to revise the potential for creating permanent jobs on the Employment Roadmap and other government programs. According to Nurymbetov, local executive bodies saved 53 billion tenge on the Employment Roadmap.

It is proposed to use these funds:

  • For new projects creating permanent jobs,
  • For lending to small and medium-sized businesses to create permanent jobs and mini-industries.

Nurymbetov pointed out the need to review the qualitative and quantitative indicators of job creation in state programs with an emphasis on increasing the share of permanent jobs. The ministry and central state bodies together with local executive bodies have been instructed to submit proposals to the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population on new indicators of creating jobs in the regions within the framework of state programs.

In addition, at an extended meeting, President Tokayev instructed to ensure the employment of people who first paid unified social benefits, as well as to make the Electronic Labor Exchange a single portal.

“1 million 338 thousand people, who for the first time received unified social payments in emergency situations, have been introduced into the automated information system Labor Market, the Employment Centers are carrying out the corresponding work. To date, 68,949 people have expressed a desire to participate in the employment program and 30,325 people have received jobs,” the minister informed.

The Electronic Labor Exchange is working successfully — this year alone, 281 thousand people got jobs through it.

In conclusion, Nurymbetov noted that the ministry will promptly implement measures to improve the electronic labor exchange, including mechanisms for the provision of services in an electronic proactive form, online services, registration of electronic labor contracts, the introduction of the Atlas of new professions and competencies, etc.
